One of our absolute favourite Instagram trends at the moment is #socksunday

If you haven’t already discovered what this trend is all about - it is all focused on curling up with a fun pair of socks (as the hashtag might suggest) and most importantly doing so with a good old book. You then take a photograph and add it to Instagram - on a Sunday of course!
Bookstagramming is definitely a new obsession here at Solesmith and there are some amazing bookstagrammers (the official term we are sure!) taking the most envy inducing photographs of their lazy Sunday reading set ups and sock fashions!
So here is our guide to getting involved to getting involved

The Lifestyle Set Up
The perfect #socksunday post just has to create a sense of atmosphere, whether that is fresh and inspired with tanned legs on a crisp white bed sheet or super cosy with your feet surrounded by blankets, fairy lights and a cup of cocoa! Great props are essential and we say a great excuse for a new mug, lamp and chocolate bars!

The Socks
With socks in the hashtag it goes without saying that within the #socksunday posts the sock game is strong. The socks can vary completely from super cool black and white to crazy colours, to slogan socks to the ultra fluffy hygge fulfilling knitted slipper socks.

The Books
Whatever you want! Show off your favourite collection of book, emphasise the best seller you are reading at the moment, or just find a gorgeous cover that colour co-ordinates with your socks. Hec, if your socks and props are stylish enough, get that favourite book up on your e-reader and go modern with your post.
The Caption
We love a personal touch especially when the caption shares; a favourite quote, a memory this Jane Austen brings, an inside joke that only those who have read the book will be in on, or a short review – is there anything better than discovering a new favourite author?
